"The Second Coming" can only be described as a magnificent epic novel. The writing is not only powerful and moving, but it is truly original and written of unparalleled human imagination. Paul Henry begins the story with the unnamed protagonist who awakes in a setting akin to the inferno, and journeys through this hell in an attempt to find an escape only to come across a range of unforgettable characters who were perhaps already destined to be there. Paul Henry delivers a unique and descriptively brilliant narrative for each character who are unequivocally reminiscent of famous people we have grown to love or hate within the last century. With each turning of the page, the reader is able to peel back the thick layers of each character's troubled past and story, compelling the reader to confront and experience feelings of sympathy, pity, hatred, despair, and doubt. The author's creative storytelling laces together religion and faith, recent historical, political, and entrepreneurial phenomenons, and satire to fabricate this extraordinary work of fiction.I had grown tired of reading the same cliche, unoriginal writing mechanically spawned by our many contemporary authors of today and decided to take a chance on this yet, unknown book and author. I am very glad I did. While the book may appear long, it is a page-turner and left me with no choice but to finish it in its entirety. "The Second Coming" is certainly unlike any other book I have ever read, and I look forward to Paul Henry's future novels.

Paul Henry's "The Second Coming" is a thoughtful and meticulously researched novel that presents a menagerie of compelling characters drawn from, or resembling, real life. Henry masterfully captures the distinct voices of his characters as each narrates a unique story of life. His characters cope with desires, challenges, choices, and egos, and ultimately face consequences not always foreseen. The result is an anthology of circumstances and human excesses and failings that bind his characters in a common destiny. As in real life, some of the characters are nuanced yet provocative, others are bombastic and ludicrous, but none of them are predictable. Instead, Henry keeps the reader engaged and compelled with his fluid style to the very end. But you'll want to read that for yourself!
Unique look at an apocalyptic future where everything is not what it seems. The story really examines the persona, aspirations and struggles of its characters. They are anecdotal and full of heart.
Paul Henry’s 'The Second Coming' is a novel composed of a series of stories that are all interconnected. The last chapter draws the stories together all under a central theme of Christianity. Each story is very unique, with various sub themes. I loved how the author draws in inspiration from historic figures, celebrities, past and current political figures and media spokesmen in this unique and very entertaining read. Crucial life lessons are highlighted throughout that will get the reader thinking.
I personally am not a Christian, even though raised, but I do believe in a creator like many indigenous cultures where everyone and everything is equal, and humanity is no more important than any other living being…we are all interconnected and we firstly need to respect ourselves and then everything around us. Somewhere down the road, those values have been lost as a whole, e.g. continuous destruction of the planet, corruption, greed, etc.
I also believe that fear, is the root of all evil and is what controls the mind. As soon as we fear, it’s extremely hard to reverse those thought patterns, and that’s one reason why I personally am not a Christian, because there’s a large fear element to it.
Henry has a beautifully, smooth, writing style. He expertly delivers every informative piece across in a simple fluid manner to the reader.
This is a wonderful read for the Christian and also non-Christian and it will surely leave your mind racing after every story. It was also extremely interesting reading from the perspective of a devout Christian like Henry.
Solid read, I give it 5 stars and recommend this to everyone who will read it with an open heart.
